Description: The Building Footprints dataset was captured for the Worcester County, Maryland GIS Response Mapping project which occurred from Fall, 2005 to Summer, 2007. SSA utilized aerial imagery dated March, 2004 to create the building footprints data. Upon receipt of the building foot prints from Spatial Systems, (SSA) Worcester County GIS Analsts have been doin QC of the Building footprints relative the most current aerial imagery available. SSA originally created the building footprint data utilizing 2004 aerial imagery. Since then Worcester County GIS began to QC this data with their current 2004 imagery, then utilized the 2008 imagery when available and then began utilzing the 2010 aerial imagery. To put in perspective the buildings are currently approx. 25% based on 2004 imagery, (northern portion of county)and 30% based on the 2008 aerials, (middle section of the county) and approx 45% 2010 aerials (mid to southern portion of the county). The GIS staffs goal is to complete the QC of the buildings for the entire county based on the current 2010 aerials. In future, when newer aerials become available, the Buildings will be QC'd to them.
